Actual Customer Feedback:
“Rated #1 Best Taste & Nutrition”
- epicurious.com “Best bang for your buck” “Can I enter in my own meals and foods using the information on their nutrition panels such as calories, fat and fiber, to track them using eDiets? The answer? No. “ “I have been an Ediets member since 2001. At that time I was 47 lbs overweight. Less than a year later I lost the 47 lbs hit my goal and life was good. If you follow everything properly you will lose weight.” “I tried ediets years ago and got no where with it… except dollars poorer because I wasn’t quite ready to commit to anything…” “I could not have been more disappointed with eDiets.com. I expected features, I expected functionality, I expected to be able to add foods that weren’t in a pre-populated database.” “I have never in my entire life experienced worse customer service than eDiets. I was on the Deliciously Yours program for 6 weeks, 4 of which were completely screwed up.”
Healthy Body Report’s research on eDiets: The service that eDiets offer isn’t unique. There are a ton of companies that offer meals delivered to your door. So to find out the facts about eDiets we decided to look at the service from an overall-user-experience point of view. First of all, our research told us that the meals are of very high quality, good portion size and are considered great value for money. We also discovered that the more serious weight loss customers regularly used the support services to speak to dietitians, fitness experts and trainers, and had overall, very good feedback on their services. The eDiets social network interface also adds a community aspect which users found helpful in maintaining weight loss goals or acheiving them. So far so good. We did however come across a consistent complaint about eDiets. With regards to the refund policy, there is none, and a cancellation fee of $25 is charged for early cancellation within 84 days. Verdict: eDiets is overall a great service. We do recommend it, however be aware that there is a cancellation fee and no refunds. If you are ok with that however, definitely give this a go. Ediets is a fraudulent and predatory company, simply put. Little did I know that when I “accepted the terms” I allowed ediets to charge my debit card monthly ad infinitum. I decided not to sign up officially, or so I thought, and NEVER accessed their site, but still received monthly charges simply because I “accepted the terms”. Beware: their is not official “enroll now” button to click, nor does one receive and email confirming your enrollment. One only knows she is a member when her credit card is charged. Don’t expect ediets to be helpful. They will not refund nor waive the “early cancellation fee”, which was NOT mentioned expect for in fine print under the “terms”, because they are predatory, making money NOT by their goods/services, but by extorting its customers. I learned a good lesson, though. NEVER, NEVER enter your cc info. unless you have thoroughly researched a company.
I’ve heard a few cases of this occurring lately which is a concern. I am seriously considering lowering the star rating and adding a warning to the review.
Thank you for letting me know.
